• Happy Birthday. The Thurmaston Branch is pleased to be celebrating the 75th Year since the formation of the branch on the 25th February 1934. A 75th Anniversary Pennant for the Branch Standard will be presented to 'Jez' Downie the Branch Standard Bearer on Friday 27th February in the Thurmaston RBL club followed by a birthday party. The event is open to all comers so please don't be shy, pop along and enjoy the occasion with us.

• Armed Forces Day. Continuing with the party spirit the Thurmaston Branch will be the centre of attention on the weekend of the 26th to 28th June 2009, when we shall be celebrating not only the 75th anniversary of the formation of the branch but also Armed Forces Day. Starting on the Friday evening (26th) at 20:00 hours in the RBL club will be evening entertainment and a BBQ; on the Saturday (Armed Forces Day) there will be a street fair from 13:00 to 17:00 hours with fairground and entertainment from the Leicestershire and Rutland County RBL Pipe Band and also the Thurmaston Scouts and Guides Band. Saturday evening entertainment will be inside the Thurmaston RBL Club. On Sunday (28th) there will be a service of rededication for the new RBL Thurmaston Branch standard in the Church of St Michael and All Angels in Thurmaston and a parade through the village to the RBL Thurmaston Club for refreshments. Please help us to make this weekend extra special and join in wherever you can.

• For those of you who like doing your shopping on the internet you can get all your gifts, holidays, travel, financial, broadband, car hire, electrical goods and more; helping out the Branch too by doing your shopping at our shopping page. You help us as we get commission on every purchase made by you, and you help yourselves by getting some of the best deals around!!! Try holidays at Disneyland Florida, or buy yourself a new mobile phone just as a couple of examples.

• Visitors to our club are warmly welcomed, you do not have to be a member but we would prefer it if you joined us and helped our cause. Membership forms are available from behind the bar, or you can download one and hand it in to the bar staff or any committee member.
